Today I saw a Jackdaw having a bath in my pedestal birdbath. As far as I can recall that is the first time I've ever seen a corvid in my birdbath.

Maybe because we've had such a prolonged spell of dry weather, Jacksparrow ?? It would be glad to find a body of water big enuf for a baffie.

Have been noticing more faecal sacs dropped in the garden these past days - so 'they'
are around busy at the nest
The smaller feathers that I've picked up in the garden lately I have been poking in the hanging spiral containing nesting wool - they have been taken

I cannot keep the sparrows in cotton wool the bluetits have settled down.

I had to get my bird ID book out today.
I think it's a chiffchaff. It was smaller than the sparrow, very dainty. Quite uniform brown colouring and a slash over the eye.
