Today I saw a Jackdaw having a bath in my pedestal birdbath. As far as I can recall that is the first time I've ever seen a corvid in my birdbath.

Maybe because we've had such a prolonged spell of dry weather, Jacksparrow ?? It would be glad to find a body of water big enuf for a baffie.

I want count my Chickens ,but the Blue Tits have become busy with moss in one of my boxes.

Have been noticing more faecal sacs dropped in the garden these past days - so 'they' are around busy at the nest

The smaller feathers that I've picked up in the garden lately I have been poking in the hanging spiral containing nesting wool - they have been taken

I cannot keep the sparrows in cotton wool the bluetits have settled down.

I had to get my bird ID book out today.
I think it's a chiffchaff. It was smaller than the sparrow, very dainty. Quite uniform brown colouring and a slash over the eye.
