Last year during the heatwave of '18 (doesn't have the same ring to it as The Summer Of Seventy-six somehow) I got somewhat excited (on the wrong thread, nothing new there ) by cinnabar moths and their progeny.
Well, yesterday I was visited by my first of the year . Very pleased by the continuation .
Not moths WASPS I did get up and my doorstep was covered with things like maggots but it turns out it is Larva from the nest what ever next its horrible I just hose them down the drain .

Coming back from the shop here, a hummingbird hawk moth flittering about some flowers in the hedge for nectar. First I have seen so close to home.
Well spotted Willpar. I will probably have to wait until the buddlia starts flowering.
