Female GSW turned up at 07.10 this morning. Spent five minutes on the fat balls and left.Within two minutes male GSW arrived for two minutes on the fat balls, suet block and peanuts and disappeared. None been back since.

Plenty Goldfinches, Sparrows, Starlings and Blue Tits. Female GSW in 4-5 times a day. Conspicuous with their absence are Great and Coal Tits

:snowman: :snow: Whilst climbing back into the car at the local garden centre this morning I spotted a strange thingy on an unknown tree so climbed back out again to have a closer look.
Yes, the preceding emojis are the clue, it was a big bunch of mistletoe  !!
The host tree was not in leaf so I couldn't name it.

Have never seen growing mistletoe before and didn't expect to, particularly in :sun: :sunny:.
Anyway, :christmas: :)

Blobs of Mistletoe are commonplace in my part of merry England. Some folk mistake them for Squirrel dreys seemingly unaware that Mistletoe is a parasitic plant.

Seen mistletoe on apple trees in Somerset. Quite nice to look at.

Five Jackdaws arrived all at the same time in my garden. It scared the bejayzus out of the other birds for a few seconds although the Jackies are of little threat to them. :sofa:
