A Jackdaw having a wash in my pedestal bird bath. Sturks are energetic bathers but definitely second division compared to Jackdaws.

Never had a jackdaw or any crow in our bath.
Did see a lady blackbird tarting herself up today then shoot of to the bushes for a good preen...

Then had a rook later on giving me the evil eye...

and a robin gathering nesting material....

Seen another unusual duck today, in fact two. Small ducks this time. One was very colourful and the other was white. They flew off so could not get a video. But looked it up and could only come up with a Mandarin. If the male was the coloured one and the female white. Apparantly They do have lots of white ones. Must be bred like that.

The male Mandarin is unmistakable in breeding plumage but the female is a rather dreary grey with some white mixed in. It is quite possible that a female would have more white than grey.
