If we have to have frosty weather the least we can hope for is more birds in the garden. Today didn't disappoint. The highlights were four Common Redpolls and a solitary LTT

Jacksparrow - 4 redpolls ! Splendid - I've only ever seen one in the garden and that was a couple of years ago.

Had a goldcrest flitting about the berberis, looking for insects this morning. Lovely to see, but a cat spotted it also. So I chased the cat away, and of course the goldcrest as well.

Went for a walk to the beach first this year nothing to see but I found a dead Little Auk there were 100 last week blown off coarse some got found and sent to Fife to be nursed back to health this one was less lucky.Lots of my usual Sparrows and the odd Greenfinch Sturks are down ,I think the fat balls may be frozen keeping the water free is difficult.

My pied wagtails were lucky just now. A hawk was stalking, but luckily two crows intervened and chased it off.

Also saw a pied wagtail in the garden today for the first time in a while. Also had a jackdaw, blackbird, robins, goldfinch, blue tit, great tit, starling.
