Looks like it to me Placi. They all seem to be around the same size. But may not be related. The new one has never been with the twins.

That's really nice, Willpar  but a little puzzled by the discarded t-shirt behind the feeder .

Ha Ha , see what you mean placi. That s another feeder on top of the steps. I stapled black polythene of the roof to keep it dryer. That is a bit that overhangs. Looks like the sleeve of a T shirt though.

Just caught the 3rd juvenile. Had a look and it is in good condition. Dabbed with dulux and put back into the garden. All three have a mark now, wonder if there are anymore out there.

Waste not want not. Was going to throw this sweet jar away, but thought I could use it as a hedgie feeder. Will be ok for the juveniles and can put it under the hedges that I have in the garden. Had two jars so have put them to good use. Wont be much cop for large adults though.

That is a very good idea Wilpar. Have you weighed your small hedgies?

Sorry I haven't been around for a while. I have been spending a lot of time at my parents' house, as they both have dementia and I have had to work my shifts too!

On Tuesday 3/11 I went round to my friend's house about lunchtime and found him in the garden looking at something on the grass. When I went over, I saw a very small hedgie out in full daylight snuffling around. I immediately thought it was far too small to get though the winter with hibernation only being a few weeks away. I scooped it up and got my friend to find a box. We took it to Lower Moss Wood, my local animal sanctuary (I am a Friend of Lower Moss wood - paying a monthly subscription to them).

When we arrived at the sanctuary they weighed the little hedgie and it was 217g. They asked me if I wanted it back for my garden when it was grown up! I said it could come back to my garden as I have 2 lodges and I always feed the hedgies every night. It won't be ready until the Spring now.

My friend had previously mentioned to me he had seen a small hedgie around in the day. I am very glad I arrived at a time I could do something constructive to prevent it's demise this winter. I never expected it to be that small!!

My hedgie is still coming to my garden. I have been feeding it nightly.
