Martin Down and Garston Wood

Post by PimperneBloke »

An early morning sortie (I left home just after 6) to Martin Down, followed by a trip to the shaded Garston Wood as the temperature rose. I hadn't been to either place in ages so it was a nice change of scenery.

Hope you enjoy

Yellowhammer, corn bunting & bullfinch, that's three birds I never see... Definitely worth the early trip PB. Great photo's of the skylarks and lots of butterflies. Well done with the cuckoo, I have seen and heard more this year than I ever have. Even took a photo of two together.

Great set PB. A bit ambitious with a skylark on the wing ;) Paid off though.

Very well done PB. Difficult to pick a winner but the full frame Red Kite was superb. :photo:

Well done for not roasting - Gosh and I bailed on going for Small Blue hunt in favour of a doggy lolly (for him) and a cool drink (for me) in a pub.
You got some good sights there

I'm sure Gosh appreciated not being out!! I think it got to about 9:30 when I decided it was getting too warm and headed back toward the car lol
