A grey heron this morning. It was in amongst the reeds until it saw me and quickly took flight.

Nowt wrong with that pic Bob. I see on flickr you said to Snappy about burst mode... unless I'm doing a building I always use burst, coz you never know what might happen. You haven't got to do the full burst. Mine's set to 12 frames per sec, but quite often I only do 2 or 3 frames, or I'd have a million photos to sort thru, but it means you get different wing positions, and the catchlight in the eye etc

I am a mid range amateur photographer I think PB. Still lots to learn about the camera and photography. It's all good :)
