Galls and a Grey Waggie

Did not see any holes like you do in oak apples Nuthatch. So whether the gall wasp are inside I could not say. The grey wagtail was very elusive it kept flying away if I got to close. But managed to get a few seconds of it.

I've just googled 'rose gall' and it is indeed the winter version of the fuzzy gall of a gall wasp.
Learned something today !!
