Great video Nick, nice to see so much activity.Nick wrote: Mon Oct 13, 2025 11:25 am It's October and I'm still getting most of the same species visiting the pond as I did in the summer.

Coming back from a walk down the woods this morning, fluttering from garden to garden a black redstart. Don't see them often and only this time of year when I do.

Good spot willpar. I think I've only ever seen one and that was fleetingly. I'm looking forward to the month end video report.Willpar wrote: Wed Oct 15, 2025 5:15 pm Coming back from a walk down the woods this morning, fluttering from garden to garden a black redstart. Our neighbourhood sparrow hawk has been busy again catching its prey in our back garden. I caught a glimpse of it but it was gone when I went for my phone.

Sadly it is a fact of life if you attract birds to your garden. Hunting is so much easier for the Sprawk when there are lots of targets in a small area.Wren wrote: Mon Oct 20, 2025 1:42 pm Our neighbourhood sparrow hawk has been busy again catching its prey in our back garden. This is a first for me, lovely bird. I THINK it's a Redwing but stand to be corrected!
