Wasn't being funny, just meant bright sunlight can be difficult to control all the feather detail and different shades.... same as gull photography is often better in a flat grey light to preserve feather detail

i did see them hammering away at them with their beaks, quite a lot of broken shell about, I assume some of it down to their success
