Compton Down (again) 21/08/2025

Post by PimperneBloke »

So forecast was pretty decent, til late morning, so I made the executive decision to go to Arne. Not been there in a while, plus might catch sight of Osprey or Spoonbill from the shore. You can probably guess from the title... I changed my mind :D

I took a slightly different route to normal, but soon changed my mind again, when the grazing cattle started grazing towards me!

Great to find so many different butterflies in one area PB :) P.S A spoonbill or osprey would be nice as well... :D

Stunning set of photos PB. The blues of the butterflies were amazing. One of the whites you photo'd looked similar to the Small White which we've all been asked to look out for and report. It could be wishful thinking on my behalf.

Thanks Jack. I've not seen anything about reporting small whites, so I'll have a search, cheers
