Camera lens advice

Post by Ed D »

Hi all, I would like to get into more macro photography using a more dedicated macro style lens. At the moment I use my Canon RF100-500 zoom lens as close as I can get to my subject. It works well like that for me but I am interested in more close up detail.

As usual money matters these days so I am in a dilemma. I would like to save and get the Canon RF100 macro but will the EF 100 macro with rf-ef adapter work as equally well? I will need image stabilisation so not sure if any manual lenses would work for me. My camera is the R7.

Your thoughts would be appreciated.

Thank you.

I can't really help with Canon stuff Ed, as I shoot Nikon, but generally I think you'll get better image quality with a native mirrorless lens than with an adapter. A decent tripod would probably work as your image stabilisation.
