I bought some natural wool of Ebay and put it out in my garden as a nest material offer about a month ago, but didn't see any takers. Until this morning, when I was delighted to see a great tit came and pulled a good beak-full and took it away :D . I was in the garden at the time but that didn't deter her/him, I guess they are too busy to worry about me being there

On a similar subject I recently saw a warning about putting your pet dog's fur out for the birds to use. Apparently if you have used any kind of flea treatment it can remain in the fur and could damage the nestlings.

Yes I read about it too, it has to be totally natural and untreated, whatever material is used.

A first for me today. In recent times the sight of a Buzzard soaring over my house or even landing in the garden has been fairly common. New today was a beautiful Red Kite. I have seen them quite near to where I live but this was the first time actually overhead in my town. :wow:

That is a great spot JS. They have been reported in my general area but have never seen one yet.
