Re: WHAT I SAW TODAY.....
Chaffinches have returned to my garden after an absence of a few months. Winter must be just around the corner.

Re: WHAT I SAW TODAY.....
Hello everyone!! Had a rare day off today, baking a cake for my twin boys birthday today to take to the Wirral for later. Spent time looking out over my garden and lots of birdie activity. Had to top up food twice. 12+ Goldfinches feeding on feeders, my male Black cap is back and the Blackbirds are back too. The Blackbirds are really enjoying the windfall apples. There is one on my patio completely hollowed out by one of the Blackbirds and they are having a go at others too. I will have to find them some more, as they like them started - a hole making somewhere to get them going!! Lots of horrid feral pigeons too eating me out of house and home!! A wood Pigeon was in the hanging basket pinching the suet pellets which are really there for smaller birds like the Robin and tits. The Robin, Collared Doves, Coal tit, Great Tit and Blue tit and also there and a few green finches, not to mention groups of Sturks - all in all a great display making for happy viewing!!

A nice day off, Squirrel
I'll have to try that with the apples - I usually cut them up
