I've just read that too. Makes sense I think. I was never convinced Autumnwatch had a lot in it really.

Springwatch is always the best with the live feed on the nests and plenty of activity to talk about. Winterwatch is often full of items about otters, beavers, stoats and the hardy souls that can live off the land in harsh conditions. But Autumnwatch always seemed a bit flat to me in comparison. Mostly just animals caching for winter.

I agree. Once we the viewers got fed up with the deer rutting there wasn't much else happening.

Perhaps it would be better to tag an extra week or two on springwatch.

I have read today that the main reason Autumnwatch was cancelled was the cost. They've promised to put more money into the remaining broadcasts.

Just saw this tweet
BBC Springwatch is back on BBC2 from Monday 29th May for three weeks of live programmes! Chris and Michaela will be at our brand new location at RSPB Arne in Dorset, Iolo will be roaming the region and Gillian is in North Wales!

I think Chris lives in that area so he'll be getting a lie in while the remainder have to rough it in hotels.

Another nice episode, but that silly woman got up to her usual self today.
