I've been seeing this new robin in my garden, I think he has taken over the territory  . I heard him before I saw him, singing (clicking :D ) his autumn song. Seems a bit shy 😊

Sitting at computer early this afternoon. I turned on the swivel chair to look at the bird table. As I turned all the bird flew off quickly. Thought it was me that scared then but no. Suddenly a female Sparrowhawk came into view, saw me, turned and flew off the way she came. She was very close to making a kill - House Sparrow. Legs were forward and talons open. Never thought I would ever see a Sparrowhawk trying to make a kill. I just wonder how many times it has been here that I didn't see.

Just goes to show we never really know what goes on in the garden a good part of the time. Had something roughly the same, but the hawk had made the kill, and flew off with it as i looked out the window.

I very often get the feeling I've had a Sprawk visit without actually seeing the bird. Telltale signs are a deserted and very quiet garden which remains so for several hours. On a couple of occasions it has lapsed into several days before the regulars started to drift back. I'm thinking that happens when they've all witnessed that loss of on of their family.

A Collared Dove with what looked like some kind of growth on it's right eye. It did not appear to see me when I was on it's right side but when it turned around so the left eye could see me it left straight away. I will keep a lookout and try to get a photo. :photo:

Dunno Willpar. I was fairly close but not wearing my specs. I kept a lookout today but it was a no-show. :(
