My alpha Blackbird eating the tadpoles again. He's really good at catching them I watched him have three tries and he got one every time. I did register my displeasure but he chose to ignore me.

Joy of joys a Song thrush turned up today. The first sighting for several years. It stopped long enough to enjoy a bath, find a good sized worm to scoff and take more than a passing interest in the tadpoles. As for the latter it still has a little to learn. I saw a couple of attempts without success and then it gave up. :)

That's a lovely visitor Jack  . I am starting to be seriously worried about your tadpoles, they are becoming quite popular

Strange you should mention that, Jacksparrow, about the thrush ablutions - my thrush comes every day for a bath. They seem to be irresistibly attracted to water.
Hope it becomes a regular . Pity about the taddies

What I'm not seeing all of a sudden are my birds :magnify:. Apart from one lone blackbird mother still gathering little worms there is a dramatic drop in numbers. Ground food left uneaten  !!
I think the Summer Vacation has begun :weep:. They'll be back in October .......

I was about to post something similar. I am still getting Sparrows but other species are showing a marked decline. The dreaded ferals are still turning up to hoover up the dropped seed but there is getting less work for them to do.

Thing is they don't tell you when they're about to disembark. Just up and off :(.
Left with a ruck of food which is only slowly disappearing.
