I saw one fledgling yesterday, with a parent, and one today, again accompanied by a parent. Small groups of 2-4 starlings from time to time on the feeder. No noise at all. Its eerily quiet. They are nowhere to be seen or heard. Very strange

And the screaming Sturklets are back! :flying: :dj: . There are around 10-15 of them, accompanied by parents, so cute and lively, always a joy to watch them

Sturklet 1: This fledging business is so tiring, don't you think? I need to rest my legs.
Sturklet 2: It sure is, but one must stay looking good, I'll do some grooming.

Don't have the young sturks yet but they will be here shortly. Going to enjoy the peace and quiet while it lasts.

While I was putting the food out in the ground trays, one starling landed on the feeder with a little one in tow. It happens sometimes that they don't see me and they immediately do a U turn. Not this time. I expected them to fly away as soon as they spotted me, and the young one did, after few seconds, but the adult female stayed and proceeded to eat suet from the hanging feeder while I was there, less than a meter away  . And it wasn't just a bite, she stayed for good few minutes, eating happily  . I couldn't believe it :D . That's the closest encounter for the longest time I've ever had with a starling! They are so beautiful up close

She was clearly at ease with your presence. Perhaps another garden she visits have encouraged her to be friendly.
