Re: WHAT I SAW TODAY.....
At a distance of about 15 yards I saw a woody behaving very strangely on the fence that divides me from my next door neighbour. It was swaying around like it was drunk with occasional wing flapping. I ran for my binoculars and it turned out to be a fledgling Woody trying to attract the attention of it's parent. I did get some photos but I haven't uploaded them yet.

We'd love to see that picture Jack
Talking of woodpigeons ... I looked out the window and saw one woody across the road, lying on the ground in a very weird position, on its side, with its wings up in the air and not moving
. I thought its probably hurt, possibly attacked etc. when it stood up and than wend down again, wings up in the air again, staying still in that weird position
. When it did it again I realised that it was taking a bath in the smallest possible, hardly noticeable puddle

Re: WHAT I SAW TODAY.....
The recent changeable weather may not suit all the garden wildlife but for the Blackbirds it has provided the opportunity to feast on worms and other invertebrates that had been hiding in the sun-baked ground. They have been everywhere in the chateau garden today and every location provided a meal. Happy days

Re: WHAT I SAW TODAY.....
Same here - easy food for the nestlings, especially as The Men cut the grass on Wednesday

Re: WHAT I SAW TODAY.....
I saw 2 ducks by my neighbours garden bench, they were there yesterday too. They are male and female so i presume they have a nest nearby. I'll take a pic if they are there again tomorrow.
