I think it has been shown before but it has been dug out as a tribute the the surviving protagonist who passed away recently.Placido wrote: Tue Jun 04, 2019 1:35 pm ..... and now for something completely different --

Not a bad springwatch this year. Full of highs and lows. Just shows how much the weather plays a part into the scheme of things.

Re: T.V. PROGRAMMES ALERT
I think this years Springwatch highlighted the amount of nest predation that goes on. The large BoP seemed safe but everything else was in danger. I was particularly surprised by the Woodmouse taking out a nestful of baby birds.
Re: T.V. PROGRAMMES ALERT
I thought that was one of the best Springwatch's for a while. Gillian was a LOT better. Iolo is always great too. Good variety of stories and cameras.
Yes the predation is sad but it's the circle of life and the ones that suffer the most often have a second clutch when the predators then no longer have babies to feed and so are less likely to get them. Nature finds a way. It's nice to see how it adapts to balance it all out actually.

Not a bad programme placi. But I believe it is a repeat. But interesting to those who have not seen it before.

Martin Hughs-Games is back on the telly next week. This time for ITV. He is doing a survival special in India. Called counting tigers. Two tigers are poached every week to feed the Chinese market for aphrodisiac medicines. Should be interesting. Don't say what day or time though.
