Have just seen a young blackbird being fed apple on the grass in the garden.

It now appears my residents in the wall ivy are celebrating being parents. Mum and Dad Blackie have been to and fro the nest all day.

We think there's a nest in one of the hedges - we haven't seen it but in one area there is cheeping and blackbirds going in and out

I think it is fair to say that my local blackies are having a good year raising chicks. I appear to have more coming to the garden at present than in any previous year. One of them has already learnt that there is a meal to be had by using the hanging feeders. SF hearts seem to be favourite.
Meanwhile my nest in the wall ivy seems to be progressing with the parents busy most of the day. I have not checked the contents of the nest as I don't want to spook the parents.
