You've seen a Jay
Indeed Hooray
I'd love to see one
down my way
But sadly it was not today

Re: WHAT I SAW TODAY.....
You spelled 'toady' incorrectly
. The entire ode has lost its Rhyme Appeal and Innate Lyricism, both of which are crucial to a sensible pome.

Re: WHAT I SAW TODAY.....
It's toady not today I hear,
But that does look rather queer
When I done grammar a toady was a creep,
and similarly when I ploughed the deep
Today is the here and now
Not a creepy denizen of the shallow(s)

The jy
Came again toady
No, no, forget that ......
The poetic jay came again today, attracted almost instantly by fresh seed and pellets and a refill of the p'nut feeder. Unfortunately, the seed was all under the ground cage and I hadn't scattered a few nuts on the grass. It (I reckon it's a mother) spent a few mins trying to figure the cage out and then was bombed from on high by an outraged magpie.
Off it flew, and so did the maggie, but the jay returned - ran for camera and never saw it again all day long

Re: WHAT I SAW TODAY.....
After a short absence she(?) came for breakfast. May be coincidental but I'd spilled a few p'nuts on the grass first thing.
Watched and wondered whether I had time to run for the camera when, out of nowhere, the jay was bombed from on high by a male blackbird. It immediately took off and before they shot behind some trees I saw the blackie attack again in the air.
Saw a m. blackbird attack a cat in a similar fashion, but more prolonged, once upon a time.
