It's lovely when you get a bird that seems to have faith that you mean it no harm. I have only experienced it with Blackbirds. It is a real joy but it always leaves me slightly concerned that they may put their trust in someone who might harm them for whatever reason.

First thing this morning - sunny, dewy - male blackbird got down to business with a female.
Immediately prior to the event he puffed up his feathers (put me in mind of black grouse fighting) and afterwards immediately flew off whilst she wagged her tail vigorously over and over.
Haven't witnessed before.

Most evening before dusk I put out the dried mealworms for the Hogs. This event has not escaped the notice of a couple of Blackbirds in my garden. Tonight the male was in hoovering up the spilled worms within seconds of them being spilt.

Have had some young blackbirds in the garden squeaking by the hedge and seen parent birds pausing on top of the fence with food in their beaks before flying off

Your Blackies are ahead of the game Nuthatch. Mine have only just started collecting food to take back to the nest.
