.......and then the landline phone rang again. "Get that Andy" hollored Anna trying to concentrate on her reading. She heard Andy say "Oh hello Kay" and realised that a peaceful read was now unlikely and went to answer the call herself. It was Kay Tring an old friend of hers that did corporate events."One of my regulars has let me down at the last minute Anna" Kay said,"Can you lend me a hand tonight doing a little waiting on table, sorry for the short notice". Anna was always glad of a little extra income as she was the only wage earner in the household so she readily agreed. She updated Andy on the situation, got changed and was out the door in the space of fifteen minutes leaving Andy and the girls to amuse themselves. After tea had been prepared and eaten the girls went to their rooms while Andy once again settled to try and read Anna's mail as he had been asked. After a short period it became clear that his wife was........

.......being asked by Ganning,Ferbroak a series of questions concerning her relatives up north. Andy knew Anne was originally from the north east but had not had contact with anyone up there for years,that is, as far as he could recall. What the paperwork didn't reveal as to why they wanted to know this information and Andy wasn't sure his wife should engage in the conversations givens the current fears about personal security. As he mused the landline telephone rang again, this time it was a voice he had not heard before.................

.......asking for Anna. Before divulging any information Andy enquired as to who was calling. She said her name was Cara Pace a work colleague of Annas' at the supermarket. Andy said that Anna was out and wouldn't be home until late but could he take a message. Cara said simply that Anna should phone her on her mobile phone at the first opportunity as there was some exciting news. This last part of the message intrigued Andy but he would have to wait until later to discover what was happening. Once again his mind drifted away from the contents of the envelope and he switched on the TV looking for mild diversion and it wasn't long before the events of the last 24 hours caught up with him and he drifted into a light sleep. Anna bumping noisily through the front door brought him out of his doze rather abruptly but a quick glance at the clock showed nearly four hours had drifted by. "Allo love" he said, "did it all go well?". Anna answered in the affirmative and started to go upstairs. "You've had a phonecall from Cara" Andy said."Who?" said Anna, "Cara Pace" added Andy. "Oh Her, we all call her Shelly and I'd almost forgotten her real name". "What did she want anyway?" enquired Anna and added "whatever it was it can wait until the morning as I am knackered". With that she recommenced the journey upstairs and as she did...........
