Got home from my walk today and decided to have a look in the small patch, as a cat got up in the tree and spilt all the bird food. Mealworms, suet pellets and sultanas on the grass. To my surprise there was a juvenile hedgehog there no doubt looking for food. I scooped it up and took it indoors. Gave it a look over and could see no visible signs of injury. So put it in the cat kennel in the front room(no cat). Made up some food and put it in. Has ate all the food, so must have been hungry. Can hear scraping now and again with it trying to get out, as I blocked the entrance. Cant let it out until dark, and after I put all the food out, that will be around 9pm.

Somehow, somehow, they all unerringly choose Willpar. Must be a sign outside, "Freecare 4 Needy Hogs". Join the queue, please ..... :)

Pesky cats have been taking the hedgie food. So quickly made another from a large plant pot. Has two entrances , but was a bit of a squeeze for larger hedgehogs. Made the holes a bit larger this morning. Will see on the videos tomorrow how it pans out. Don't want large holes that a cat can put its head in.

Last night was the first this autumn when a Hog failed to make an appearance. :hedgehog: :shake: The previous night was very cold but over half the food was scoffed. I have put food out again tonight but if no-one turns up to eat it I shall desist until Spring.

Still have a definite two hedgehogs visiting, could be three. One adult and one or two juveniles. Getting through two bowls of food per night.
