Not a bad start to the day. Sunny up to mid afternoon then cloudy. Raining at the moment.
Re: WEATHER
Toady I was having a lean-over-the-fence (Norman Evans - you have to be o-l-d to know who he was
) with my next-door and in the September sunshine amid friendly robins and gently falling leaves I happened to mention The Forum's current Chit-Chat thread about returning birds, particularly Greenfinch's Canada geese arriving a month early.
Neighbour is not a bit birdy and asked a question I wonder whether birders would even think of, "Are the early-returning birds anything to do with the hurricanes in the Caribbean ??".
I said I couldn't see the connection but thinking again later on, I'm not quite so sure .......
....... maybe ??

Re: WEATHER
I'd go as far to say the two events are totally unconnected. Hurricanes and Geese migration that is.Placido wrote:Toady I was having a lean-over-the-fence (Norman Evans - you have to be o-l-d to know who he was) with my next-door and in the September sunshine amid friendly robins and gently falling leaves I happened to mention The Forum's current Chit-Chat thread about returning birds, particularly Greenfinch's Canada geese arriving a month early.
