Otmoor nature reserve. It's a couple of miles north (nw ish) of Oxford. Every winter the starlings roost there at night (from about Dec-Feb) and produce these wonderful gatherings about 20 minutes before sunset. It's getting a bit too popular as the car park is heaving now and you have to get there about 2-3 hours before it happens just to park! It's also not 100% guaranteed as they seem to change behaviour a bit based on the temperature and weather. Some times they'll just arrive in small squadrons and dive straight in to the reed beds. Other times they'll form large clouds and swoop around for 10 minutes or so. It's amazing to watch though. If you can find anywhere near you that has the same, go and watch it, you won't be disappointed.
