:wave2: If only you knew nuthatch :rofl: I used to have a Star of David (or Bethlehem or sumfin' like that) in a large pot situated right there, but removed it when I found out that the fruit was not good for either wildlife or grandchildren. :)

My daughter bought me a swing bird feeder a couple of years ago. It can't hold much food, but I put it with the hanging feeders. Not much action (coz it swings), but today was just brilliant. A Sturkling turned up on its little lonesome and enjoyed some nice grub before settling on the swing. There was a light breeze so the swing was moving gently. The Sturkling settled down and enjoyed being rocked for at least half an hour (I was waiting to cut the grass so knew roughly how long). Usual rubbish photography, but tried to capture the moment the best I could. :)

I know how the Sturk feels. If I see a nice easy chair the need to try it is irresistable. :nod:

Reckon they're like the bluetits : first to try anything.

Lovely pictures better than mine still cannot master the size of them Sturks every where and thats my lot so far.

2 (that's the plurality of 1 :clap:) unconcernedly spearing their way all over the grass toady. Just like they were reg'lar visitors.
Haven't seen a sturk since way back when. 5 minutes of very interested observation. Lovely :D.
The gate is always open .......
