Sad news from Loch Garten. Have been away, no internet access, have just got back and catching up. Wonder which 'soap' the birds at Loch Garten watch? Still part of an egg in the nest which now looks deserted.

Appears quiet at Loch of the Lowes.

Things appear to have quietened down at Loch Garten. Think it is EJ on the nest as she was last night. Looks like she is incubating, but incubating what. Hasn't had time to lay another egg. Or is the cracked egg still in the nest. Awaiting update from staff.

Loch of the Lowes may have a third chick. Early this morning the final egg was seen to have a hole in it and a small beak poking through. Not sure if the chick is completely out of the shell yet.

All chicks are doing well and thriving. Difficult to say which is the eldest and which is the youngest.
