Magpies having a very noisy disagreement in the top of my Hazel tree. All the other birds departed before it turned nasty. :(

There was something similar on the roof of the house across the street from me, 2 couples of magpies against each other. On the roof! Why???

N.Z. 2nd Test 028.JPG
Have waited 'til the fourth day of the 2nd Test in New Zealand to snap a pic of the indigenous wildlife and it turns out to be a sparrer :faint:!!
Thing is though, yesterday was the First Day of Summer in N.Z. and this is (obviously ) a half-fledged wee speug. Not spectacular but a quirky slant on things down under.

I don't think the speug is a youngster as they don't get the black bib until they've matured a little. It was really kind of we homesick Brits exporting our wildlife to the colonies

NZ Speug 005.JPG
And here's a dad helping with the building :D.
The NZ commentators weren't too thrilled by these pix - I sort of gathered that speugs are a pest there.

PS.: Sorry about the Siamese from up the road - I can't get rid of the photo

Late with breakfast toady  :( - down at my feet with a cross frown on his face was Rexit, my 'Best Mate' robin. Went straight for a piece of chopped, soaked sultana which is a good vote :P.
Instant sugar boost I guess.

Clearly a lover of routine. His own, not yours :shake:
