Taken earlier this year. Here's my lazy mans guide to close ups!
Use a window feeder to attract the birds. Fasten a twig, bark or moss etc on to it to make a more natural shot.
Like this .......... If you have a camera with a close up lens, put it near the glass. A remote shutter release, or a wireless release in essential. A flash may be required depending on the light available - you'll have to experiment You can see some interference from the flash - top right....
This is the kind of result you'll get .............. Not too impressive yet ..........................

A bit of cropping and image adjustment and you can get this ................. .

That's a brilliant set up you've got. I've also got standard hanging feeders 6in from my window and it's great to get the birds up so close. It doesn't take them long to realise it's 'safe'.

It's great fun getting the settings right and so rewarding when you get a good shot!
The main problem is that shooting through double glazed windows often dulls the image a little and makes using a flash just that bit harder




................. but it does save you about a Grand by not having to buy a telephoto lens
