Sunday dawned with golden light and the promise of rain later, so I took the opportunity to scoot out earlyish. I thought the deer will look lovely in this light, and if they hadn't remained stubbornly distant they probably would have! As I walked along the road towards where they were gathered, probably 200 yards distant still, they got up as one and just wandered further away. Rather than cause any distress, I about turned and was delighted that over the hedge the other side of the road was a hare!
I hope you enjoy the meanderings that followed:

Thank you gents. I didn't see where the LTT with the feather went, but the one with the lichen was one of 2 making darting flights into the scrubby undergrowth on several occasions, so maybe nest building there. Be interesting later n the season hopefully

It certainly was Linda

The hares were the biggest surprise, never seen them there before, and I was pleased with the kites coz not seen any to photograph properly for what feels like months. Chuffed with my newbie too

Ta

At first I thought it was a Linnet partially in breeding plumage, but it didn't have the cheek spots, so I delved deeper
