So, finally a day off in not a howling gale or monsoon rainfall, I decided on a trip to Upton Country Park, over looking Holes Bay and the rising tide. Alas, roadworks and a lack of diversion signs sent me to Arne, which turned out to be quiet, with a coupe of stonking highlights, despite the cloud!

Aww what a fab set PB, a would have been thrilled to bits to see that many Avocet and Spoonbill, although we did get them at the Haugh last year

Crossbill are just brilliant to see and hear...those diversions were in your favour for a change woohoo...thanks for sharing

Thanks Linda... they were the first Crossbills I've seen, 4 randomly flew in and landed in the trees, 2 in view and 2 not

The Spoonbills are often on the same spit of land (same place as last time I snapped them) and also turn up in Brownsea lagoon.

What a great set of photos!

So many highlights.

P.S. have you heard that West Ham don't play at Upton Park any longer.
P.P.S. You had a much better day out where you ended up.
