Board Index - New Topics cut too short

I was wondering why the list of 'New Topics' has been being cut so short suddenly lately and also at 9:30 or 10:00 AM. Some people put a lot of effort into a post only to have it dropped into the bottomless pit and then nobody responds. :wife:

Can you give a specific example please? The site administrator is Kev and is the most likely to give an informed response.

I think Charles is probably referring to this page

I think it's best going into active topics/posts for all the latest, well that's what I do anyhow

Sound advice Linda. TVM
Most topics have been touched upon over the years

Things should actually remain on this 'New Posts' board longer. Some people post new stuff in the night or in the morning hours. But it's a shame when its all 'thrown into the bin' by 9:30 AM. 🗑️
The Administrator really needs to adjust the clock.
Look at BirdForum, they have four pages of new posts and don't 'axe' them all straight away either.

I didn't even realise there was a "new posts" heading. I just go into each forum when it's marked as having a new post, from the board index page

Here is what New Posts looks like in Android: Image
This is always where I start out but as Linda mentioned, I will now start off with 'Active Topics'
instead.

PS: I don't have a computer, only this Android phone which I never risk taking outdoors as it's my only internet terminal. Think of this: When I was a lad the computer programs I wrote were all stored on spools of punch tape! 🤣

It must be difficult trying to manage a phone on a forum designed for laptops or home computers. However, if you can keep your posts within the topics already active I think you should be OK. I think there is a little more flexibility within the photo section because everyone hosts their images off site leaving more bandwidth for use.

Thanks JS, I really don't have any technical problems at all using my Android phone. I always use Postimage to keep all of my photos and images off-site and I'm very good with phpBB. 😉
But the keyboard is very tiny so I have to correct typos a lot. I have keyboard layouts installed for Dutch, English, German and Lithuanian.

Sorry, only just spotted this.

The new posts page shows anything new since you last visited.
I've never fully understood active topics but I think it's anything in the last 7 days regardless of whether you visited or not.
