You're going to have to work late catching up with all the ordering, Placi - I hope they give you free p&p or a discount for the tremendous inconvenience this has caused :grumpy:

This I gotta share  !!
Today The new Men came to mow the lawns. "New" because we had a lot of trouble with the previous firm (which was also sort of new) so we contracted with this firm for this year.
Aaaannyway, They turned up this morning - beautiful, sunny day - and began to mow (there's a song in there somewhere). After finishing my usual household chores: bracken bedding annual renewal, fresh herbs biennial strewing, daily HB brewing - I looked outside and was instantly astonished .
Little geographical explanation required here - my cave is right at the end and down the extreme western boundary is a strip of soil only about 6 - 8 ins wide next to the lawn which has never been dug or attended to in any way (the soil is too hard) and it's a long border reaching from the pavement right down to the rowan tree.
One of the team of two was busily wielding a garden fork to turn over and bash the divots of said border  :rara:  :tampoline:.
Some time ago in a rash, wishful moment I bought 4 packets of wild flower seeds which would have to have been cast onto undug ground but now I can sow all 4 pkts right along this border and enjoy the sight, hopefully.
And so can the bees and insects . Day made ........ :D

My late Mother was a leap year baby. She would have been 23 today. I saved a fortune on Birthday Cards and presents while she was alive. :)
