April bought out some nice woodland flowers. The lakes have some new additions.

Some lovely flowers there William, and wonderful to see the ducklettes... I've not managed it so far! Certainly sounded pretty breezy in most of the clips, and a couple of the butterflies did well not to be blown away!! Is that a pitcher plant with the triffid tongue poking out? Are they native? Thanks for taking the time to share

Hi PB, and thanks for looking. The plant you refer to is called Cuckoo Pint, loads of them around at the moment. Near autumn will produce berries, green at first and then ripen to red. Yes it was certainly windy at times, but just had to get out. Was nice to see the little ducklets.

A great time of year for the plants William. I do like to see the ferns, one minute they are just poking through the next they are five feet tall.... I don't recall seeing the Cuckoo Pint plant, nice find.

Thank you Snappy, the cuckoo pint are quite common here, and the best i have seen them, there are lots at the moment. Sure is lovely to walk and see the blooms.

PB you might know it as Lords and Ladies - Arum maculatum and more recognisable when the red berries show up
