I do see the odd one with redpoll but I haven't seen them in quite a while... I am off to find a kingfisher, well that has probably jinxed it

Common Gull (Larus canus) - Taken me all year to find a common gull!

Hamburg is full of them but I live in a small town across the state line in Schleswig - Holstein (about 20 km from the Hamburg harbour) where they rarely appear or are very choosy what side of town they like. My oldest daughter sees them very often in the park up the hill but we both live down in a wooded hollow where the fields start and there are never any here.

The only bird I know that doesn't fight at the feeder...such sweet little birds, nice against that blue sky aswell SM
