A big test for the general public at large this weekend. Will thousands leave the cities and head for the country to enjoy the fine weather or listen to the government and stay at home?
I'm planning to visit my old uncle and take him a couple of loaves of bread and a small fruit cake. His village shop has decided that quantity is better than quality and is failing to stock his favourites. He sees no-one to talk to through the week because of his location so I feel duty bound to stay and have chat. I also phone him a couple of times per week but that is no compensation to having a proper chat face to face.

The peak is likely to be easter weekend. That'll be about 20 days after lockdown so anyone who had it just before they were in isolation should now be showing symptoms and in a weeks time they'll be at the height of their viral titre and at the point where they need hospital treatment.

Left home at 07:15 this morning to walk down to the supermarket. Was no 5 in the que, so better than last week.

You did better than myself on Friday. I arrived at 7.35 to find myself about 30 from the door. I actually got through the door at 8.10.
PS I was a little peeved to hear that the same queue this morning were offered hot drinks to keep up morale

It's all getting a little bit difficult, isn't it ?? I sympathise with Willpar - long walk, especially carrying the stuff back home - and Jacksparrow, long queue, low morale.
The online shopping is no better but in a different way: my last delivery was last Wednesday, 1 April, and yesterday I was emailed to say that my next delivery cannot be until (or after) Monday, 20 April - that's 3 whole weeks !!
I have to order tomorrow (no alternative) so I intend to get up at about 2 or 3 am and do my large order ('cos it's got to last) then. Thing is, perishable veg. can't last for a fortnight - the mushrooms I have now won't keep until 20 April !! "Best Before" dates are meaningless now and an inevitable food poisoning epidemic is the next thing ......

I can catch a bus back home placi. The first bus leaves Plymouth city centre around 8am. Gets to where I wait at around 8:40 am, so not too bad. The walk down to the supermarket takes around 25 minutes.

Phew !! Had me worried there for a while, Willpar - slogging along down the Devon lanes dodging the triffys, trying not to drop the tinned tomatoes and the bread flour.
