Yep although I don't think it'll actually be blue.
It's just that it's the second full moon in a calendar month which is quite rare.

I saw the moon on the horizon tonight and thought of Kev and the photo he could take as it was so big

I'll be out tonight, or at least that's the plan. I've got my gear and a coat ready

Well done Kev.

I would love to be out in the cold but unfortunately the bed is calling for my presence. I'm looking forward to seeing your results.

Well that was really cool to watch.
I got to my location at 12.30am and wasn't alone for long. Two others turned up, and a few more as the night went on.
I got my gear set up with a wide angle taking a shot every minute and the long lens when I fancied it. Not sure how they've turned out. I don't think the wide angle has worked very well. I might have had it a bit too wide but we'll see. The idea is to try and string a line of transition images together with a foreground.
The light was amazing. Really crisp and sharp to begin with and then as the eclipse went on it got completely dark with just a faint red disk in the sky. That was really hard to photograph because there was hardly any light coming from it. I'll have to see what I can salvage from the images I took. I got slightly better ones just before and after it was 'full'.
Called it a day at 5.30am with the moon back in one piece and a lovely mist in the dips below me so I got a couple of shots of that before getting in the car to warm up!
Lots and lots of pictures to look through but I pulled this one off the long lens just before coming to work.

I missed the moon coming up as we weren't at home and I didn't know what direction it would be coming from.
We drove back home and got in at about midnight. It was nice and bright. Hubby asked what was flashing as he couldn't see it and we were going through a tree-lined area.
We're back at home now so will get a lovely over the horizon view tonight.
Looking forward to seeing your shots, Kev.
