I believe the are some up to date scams from scallywags trying to exploit our fears over the Coronavirus. I don't know the exact details at the moment.

Just had a phone call from a very busy office with all the noise going on. And Indian Or Pakistan fellow on the other end. Rang about amazon prime account which i have never signed up to. Told him in no uncertain terms i don`t have one and don`t want one. Don`t even recall that he even said my name. All very fishy. Needless to say, i said goodbye and hung up.

I doubt it was a genuine call. There are a huge amount of scams going on at present both on line and via the phone system. I think I'm getting very adept at spotting the on-line efforts meanwhile when my phone needed updating earlier this year I got a BT one that only lets through calls I have specifically sanctioned and all the others have to announce who they are when I can then decide whether to allow them or not. I haven't had a nuisance call since.

Just had a phone call this lunchtime. A recorded message very well spoken, saying my internet will be cut off in 24 hours. Never said who it was from and to press one to put right. Either a 6 quid a minute scam or something more sinister. Just hung up.

Definitely a scam. My old uncle gets them all the time and he hasn't got broadband

I had the Royal Mail text message scam the other day.
You get a text saying there's a failed delivery and you need to click the following link to pay the £2.99 re-delivery fee.
Completely ignores the fact that Royal Mail don't know your phone number, so how could they text you that a parcel needs delivering!! In the current climate of people ordering a lot for home delivery, it's an easy one for people to be caught out with.
