Such a shame nuthatch. Been an invasion of slugs this year. Makes you wonder.

Mmm, it's coat looked undulated on its right side - that was the only other thing beside the tick.

I haven't seen it yet but the other half saw one in the garden two nights running. Maybe I be lucky some night and see it. Here's hoping.

Spotted a large dead hedgehog right on the edge of the groundfeeders' patch yesterday pm. when I put out the birds' last feed. I left it because it was getting late.
This morning up bounces The Lodger (

) for his breakfast, spotted the hedgie and it really spooked him. After a few seconds thought off he ran and I haven't seen him since

.
Bit of a drastic deterrent though

.

Unfortunately I think it's the usual - poisoning

.
Strangely, The Lodger wasn't around today either

Sorry about your hedgie, Placi
A few weeks ago I put a really heavy and quite big square Mason Cash dog/pet dish out behind the shed with the cat biscuits in for the hedgehogs.
It's great - everything is hunkydory thus far. I was worried Foxy might lift one end trying to remove it and it would crack or break when (if) he let go of it but it's still there in one piece and biscuits being eaten.

Got two hedgehogs visiting at the moment. Can see both my marks on them. Season drawing to a close now.
