Another fab selection Bob. You'd have thought that hole was too big for a nutty to feel safe in! The only Nuthatch nest I've seen was the underside of a branch in the churchyard on Brownsea, fear of falling chicks was high on the wardens agenda I imagine! I guess foxy was before and after spotting you lol

Cheers PB. They were bringing leaves in to it before curiosity of the GSW got the better of her. TBH I've never seen a nuthatch nest before.

A few of the valley wildlife this morning. The nuthatches are building a nest in the same tree where the GSW is nesting and she went over to investigate. They weren't happy at all and started "dive bombing" her, something I've not seen before.
Super set of photos. Egrets never look happy perched on branch.

Yesterday hares led me to a hidden path and in to a whole new area of the valley I thought was inaccessible. Two minutes later I came across this buck. Definitely looking forward to exploring the area more tomorrow but today off to the peaks as I've not back up there for a few months. This time not to see the red deer but hopefully maybe a mountain hare or two as I've only been close to one once before.

Cheers Snappy. Just got back. It was supposed to be sunny but couldn't see more than a few yards so gave up after 3 hours and went for an ice cream instead.
