This morning we had what looks to be a pair of house sparrows both male and female on the bird station. I also have a feeder with white pellets which he keep having a got at.

At breakfast time this morning I had 6 Jackdaws in my garden. At least half of them were fledglings which would suggest they've had a good breeding season. :)

It is more a case of what I didn't see. The only dependables in the garden at present are a flock of about 30 sparrows and a regular 6 or so feral pigeons. All the others are seemingly on their holidays. :(

I'm not sure what I witnessed this evening I have ever seen before. I saw a fair sized flock of what turned out to ne different species of Gull circling around and behaving very unusually. I reached for my binos and from what I could tell they were attempting to catch flying insects while on the wing themselves. There were plenty of insects about especially flying ants. Gulls are fairly big birds not well suited for that kind of hunting but they must have been having some success or why bother. :)

I have not seen it yet ,I dont know if i will get out but we have a Black Stork at the loch , it is away of track it should be in Africa it was ringed in France this June . :wave2:

Delivery duties I reckon. Someone in Greenfinch's location has arranged a birth in the traditional style. The infant was left under a Gooseberry bush probably :nod: :) :old:
