Am having several juvenile blackbirds coming in and eating the purple berries at the moment. Seem to like them. But with a lack of rain The berries are drying out.

One of my Blackies has returned from his summer moult quite early this year. I heard him before I saw him and spotted him eyeing the bees on the ivy blossom. Not that he has a hope of catching one but there's no harm in hoping :blackbird: :bee:

I have an intermittent two - one of each. You're right, Jacksparrow, it is a bit early.

Took a wander around the west wing 'cos ofJacksparrow's recent comment about ivy blossom. This is mine at the moment - the wasps were around in force. Temp. 70F.

I have twice as many Blackbirds this week compared to last. This makes a grand total of two. I noticed today they have started eating the Rowan berries. It was a fair crop this year so they are well provisioned for the foreseeable future.

All my rowan berries have gone, but don't have a clue what ate them or maybe they blew off.

A few blackies but not a lot. Rowan berry crop very poor this year so I don't think the birds are getting too excited. Even the holly isn't breaking any records.

My first blackbird that I have actually seen in the garden today. A male on the pyracantha, eating some berries.
