Took a walk down to the lakes today.

What a beautiful place! You are so fortunate to live there Willpar . Treegulls are so sweet , but those sheep were looking suspiciously at you filming them

Hi Butterfly. It is a nice place to visit. I only go down there in winter, as there is a better chance of seeing more water birds. Sometimes in spring to see baby ducks. Not quite cold enough yet though. I was pleased to see a pair of swans, and was able to get quite close to them. The fresh water lake is probably man made as there is a dam at the far end where the mock castle is. Has an overflow that goes into a tidal basin. Very popular with people. I was surprised to see the gulls in the trees. There were loads of them, some flew off as I got nearer. The horses and sheep were on the way down to the lakes, just showing what is along the way. As well as the woods. Is a very nice walk.

The swan behaviour was most interesting: the second one observed the 'head-rubbing' of the first, and looked as if it wanted to help, and then imitated it. Sympathetic.

The grey horse at 0.47: looked like - dare I say it - a Suffolk Punch . Could it be ?!?!?!?!
Worth a long walk just to see that.

Hi placi, to be honest I did not know what a Suffolk Punch was, so had to look it up. The pics I seen online showed that they were a solid colour that looks like chestnut, and they seem to be bigger. So I am at a loss as to say what the one in the video is. I did like the braids though.

Very nice willpar. I was surprised to see Gorse and Perrywinkles in flower. You are certainly well ahead us in the SW midlands.

The postbox decorations brought a blast from the past, Willpar. I wonder in how many areas of the country they would be safe.
The wee violet was very cute and I have an excellent recipe for Arboreal Game Pie
