It has been sometime since I reported on the strange occurrences at my Aunt & Uncles house. It is not that they have stopped so much rather but due to my Aunts deteriorating health(she has dementia) there have been other things to discuss during my visits.
Lately a small sum of money(about £80) suddenly reappeared that has been missing for so long my Uncle had given up thinking he might find it again. So it is not all bad news.

Jacksparrow, I'm very sorry to hear about your aunt's illness. Dementia is a dreadful disease. So very sorry that this has happened to one of our forum's honorary members.

Must say though, it's good to know that the long-running spooky soap opera continues and it's a Plus this time . Just in time for Christmas - maybe you'll get some new boots .
It's all a bit Dickensian in a way .......

Uncle's being very stoic but she does put his sense of humour to the test on a daily basis. He has had some help from the medical profession but is very much left to cope for most of the time. He is a very active 88 year old and accepts that it is his lot and after 63 years of marriage I'm not sure he would be happy if they were separated.

A sad tale there JS it is a horrible illness and alot of work for your Uncle but the oldee"s always seem to coop,so glad they found the Christmas Bonus.

It is some while since I posted in this thread My aunt is now in a Nursing Home leaving my uncle to care for himself. He accepts that caring for her had gone beyond what he could cope with.
The original reason for this thread was the ongoing strange happenings at my uncles home which he assures me are very much ongoing. The two most recent( in the last two months) include the arrival of two novelty teapots. They are only cheap tat such as someone might buy in a market or at the seaside and seem to be quite old. Most recently a very creased polo shirt has appeared in his wardrobe. It is, however, a good brand and uncle is absolutely certain that it is much better than what he would ever buy himself. There have been a steady list of minor things including a woman's voice sounding a little angry although he couldn't understand what she wanted. Spooky or what?

I empathise with your uncle's acceptance of a very sad situation, Jacksparrow. He must be almost 90 now ? Ehhh dear.

Re the 2 new teapots - wasn't there a teapot previously which appeared out of the blue ?!?! What happened to that one, if anything. I wonder what's with this teapot obsession !!
The polo shirt sounds like things are on the up . Good stuff at last. Has he washed it and worn it or is it best not to get too close ?

I admire everyone's sang froid, I really do. "A woman's angry voice" doesn't strike me as being a minor thing but I s'pose you're all rather inured to the whole situation by now. Aaaanyway, it's still a fascinating ongoing story.

Sorry to hear about your aunt's illness Jack, dementia is such a cruel illness

With regard to the newly arrived shirt my uncle has already said he might wash it and wear it but is a little concerned the real owner might spot him wearing it and ask him where he got it. No one is going to believe his story.
