The boy and I are home for a few weeks before we head back to help eldest daughter over the winter - round up of photos - wild life was pretty low on the ground except for 6 ducks that constantly tried to land on the dog walk pond - kept him well exercised.
Given how hot it got our adventures were a little curtailed but definitely want to go back and explore Ellesmere and the associated area a bit more
I think if we do it over the Autumn and I can get an idea of the lie of the land the 'mosses' will be a fruitful area to explore

Nice selection Germain. We liked the area around Corbiere and had great views of a marsh harrier

Glad you had a good trip out and about Cin. How were Gosh's trials, or was it too hot? He's grown into a magnificent looking boy hasn't he

He had a really good go at his 2 tests. Didn't pass but given we have hardly trained and he's only jumped out go a boat once I'm really proud of him.
He attempted all the elements his C test - just didn't complete them as he didn't quite understand the questions asked.
For his B test he passed every element perfectly except 1 which as totally my fault - you just can't get the handlers - and his controlled swim with my young friend was a thing of beauty. He towed the boat in without mouthing or dropping the rope.
Winter will be spent indoor swimming and practicing what we can and carting with a little bit of showing. He's apparently now qualified for Crufts for life( this showing lark is still very new so I'm not 100% sure)

I'm no expert but I think you may need to give him a combing before you rock up at Crufts. They're a bit fussy about things like that.

The great thing about these bears is we tend to show the 'au natural' - the dogs not the handlers that is. I've yet to find out if leaves, sticks, burrs, bits of gorse or seaweed are acceptable ;)
Having said that a dog I knew years ago won a big championship after leaping into the greenest, most disgusting stinking pond you could imagine. He emerged dripping from nose to tail in sludge very pleased with himself, he'd never jumped in it before -there was mad panic to get him cleaned and dried in time for his class!

The Shropshire Steam Fair looks like fun! I love steam engines of all sorts: tractors, ship engines and locomotives!

It's really fabulous Charles, I think nearly all of the traction, steam and vintage community of the UK attend - they have everything going on over two days.
