My starlings are slowly coming back, and starting to take their baths, sure sign that spring is here

Good spot. It's a few years since I saw one in the wild.
I would be really surprised if you heard a fledgling Starling. For that to happen the parent birds need to have met, build a nest and mated in very early March. I think we have a few weeks to wait yet. I heard an adult " singing" from a TV ariel the other day and because of the distance between myself and him all I could hear was the squawky bits. I respectfully suggest that is what you heard.
